Welcome to Kitty Korner!
Hi there! Thanks for visiting our Korner of the page. Let us tell you a little bit about ourselves and how we came into this family.....

Kayleigh

Mommy found me in 1996. She had just moved to Spring, TX and felt really alone. I guess I came along at just the right time to fill the void she was feeling. The weather news had predicted an ice storm this particular night, and I was hiding under some bushes yeowling really loud. Mommy came out with a flashlight and pulled me out and carried me to her warm apartment, where I spent the next three days and nights cuddling with her. When the ice finally melted, mommy let me outside, thinking that I would go to my real home. Well....when she got back home from work, I ran back to her apartment and after three days of this ritual, mommy decided that she would keep me. It wasn't very long that mommy learned I was going to have kittens. One night, I had SIX of them. You should have seen mommy that night. She was with me when I delivered my babies and she kept saying, "Breathe Kayleigh! Breathe!" When my babies were seven weeks old, mommy found homes for them and took me to the vet for shots and spaying. I could go on and on, but mommy said I have to make it short, so pretty much, this is my story.

Kassidy

I've been here the shortest amount of time. See, I used to live in the house that I'm living in now. I belonged to an elderly lady, but when she died in December 2000, her son packed up everything in the house, including the dog, but they left me behind. The next door neighbor was kind enough to feed me a small can of cat food each day. Then my mommy and daddy bought my previous guardians house in May 2001. I used to visit mommy when she would work in the front yard in the afternoons. Then the neighbors had to vacate their house because of a mold problem. Once again, this family packed everything, including their dogs and cats, but left ME behind. Mommy noticed that I was left behind, so she started leaving food and water out for me. She talked to the neighbors about me when they picked up their mail one day but they didn't seem to be interested in my welfare, so that's when mommy adopted me. I was taken to the vet for shots and "stuff". The neighbors are back in their house and they see me sitting in the front window sometimes. I'm just happy to be "home again".

Cole: 7/04/1993 to 8/04/2008

Mommy adopted me from a shelter in 1993. I don't think I was quite what she had in mind when she came to that shelter looking for a kitten. The shelter lady led mommy to a room where all the kittens were held. I was several months old, but I guess still young enough to be considered a kitten. I was also the biggest of the kittens there and in a cage all to myself. Mommy started at the back of the room, holding each tiny kitten, but when they would start to cry and scratch, etc....mommy would set them back in their cage and try the next one. At one point mommy happened to look up and caught me staring at her. I know it's impolite to stare, but I had to get her attention somehow! She continued this ritual of holding a kitten and setting it back in it's cage for quite a long time. I wondered if she would ever make her way to my cage. Finally, after what seemed like FOREVER, mommy stood before my cage and told the shelter lady she would like to hold me. Mommy held me close and looked into my eyes. That's when I gave her "the look." You all know "the look", where we half close our eyes and give you the "silent meow". I knew I had it made when mommy grinned from ear to ear and told the shelter lady, "This is the One!"

Update:  Sadly Cole went to the Rainbow Bridge on August 4, 2008 after a two week illness.  We miss tremendously.
